The role
Reporting to the Quality Leader, you will be working day time hours, 38 hours per week. You will be expected to do the following:

Maintain implement ad monitor quality onsite
Adhere to HACCP standards
Ensure food safety and quality issues are maintained in a factory environment
Report and investigate any safety issues

Skills and experience
Desirable applicants will possess:

A BSc in Food Technology or equivalent
Experience in HACCP Coordination
Experience in WQA and/or SQF
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience in both Quality Assurance and Quality Control positions including conducting audits

An opening exists within the Quality Team for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to fill the role of Laboratory Assistant



This part time position is primarily to backfill roles in both the Chemical and Micro Lab in times of Leave, however will also be required to undertake routine tasks in both labs on a weekly basis.

The successful candidate must have


Laboratory experience - either Micro or Chemistry, not necessarily both


Technically sound, problem solving skills


Good Communication


Can work unsupervised as well as in a team



Proficient in computer skills, Microsoft Excel, Word etc





Chem Lab Tasks will include, but will not be limited to;


Routine calibration and maintenance of all lab instrumentation & equipment


Foodscan


pH Meters


Salt Titrators


Balances


Thermometers


Data analysis


Reference testing of Out of Specification product


Participate in Interlaboratory Proficiency Testing


Assist in managing & maintaining lab consumable levels, operating within budget


Volumetric Density Testing / Texture Analysis






Micro Lab Tasks will include, but will not be limited to;


Clean Equipment Swabs


Environmental Swabs


Air Surveys


Intermediate & Finished Product Testing


Operator Hand & Glove


Media making & preparation


Water sampling and testing


pH meter Calibration


Data Entry & Reporting



 

In addition, there will also be a requirement to complete other tasks within the Quality Department when not required in Laboratories.

Analytical Laboratory who have a reputation in providing analytical services and scientific testing is looking to appoint a Laboratory Coordinator for their Chemistry Lab! They are based in Brisbane south-side and service a number of organisations both locally and internationally.

Laboratory Coordinator will be responsible for supervising all personnel, approving documentation relating to chemistry testing, training and applicable validations and qualifications. The Laboratory Coordinator will also be the NATA signatory for chemical accreditation across food and water tests in the Lab.

Reporting directly to the Laboratory Manager, you will not only be responsible for personnel within the Chemistry Lab but you will be required to be 'hands on' also. There will be day to day chemistry laboratory functions, quality management and general laboratory reporting. This will be a full time position where you will be required to work on the weekends too.

To be considered for this position, you must have;


Proven experience in a similar role in a Commercial Laboratory Role
Relevant Tertiary qualifications in a Science discipline
Compliance and understanding with TGA, NATA and APVMA
Demonstrated experience with reporting functions, client management and quality systems
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to train chemistry personnel and manage


This is a great opportunity for a Senior Chemist or a Team Leader who has had some supervisory experience and would like to further develop their management skills. Ideally, this would be suited to someone with a strong chemistry commercial background who has a good understanding of the pharmaceutical and food industry.
